Ok here we go again.
I know, I know, it seems like everyone and their grandmother is talking about AI these days, but bear with me because this blog is going to be different.
That's right, I haven't employed ChatGPT this time around – this is 100% human-generated content, lucky you!
Now, let's get down to business.
AI is a total game-changer, and the buzz surrounding it is (mostly) justified.
It's reshaping the way we work, and at Karman Digital we're fully embracing its potential. We've harnessed AI in various ways, primarily to automate manual processes and streamline our content creation, research, and sales efforts.
As a digital native, I'm personally invested in the world of AI, constantly striving to incorporate it into my work wherever possible.
Over the last few months, I've dabbled with a plethora of AI platforms and plugins, exploring their capabilities and putting them to the test. Some have blown me away, becoming integral parts of my daily routine, while others have left me feeling rather unimpressed – not worth the time or money.
So what are some of the tools that fall into the former category?
What AI tools are really delivering value for the digital team at Karman?
Let's take a look.
Let’s start with the big dog... ChatGPT.
Most will know this one and will have likely already used it. Essentially it generates human-like text responses based on the ‘prompts’ or questions you ask it. The most common use case would be to write a blog or piece of content about a certain subject in a certain style.
Actually there are a lot of really useful things ChatGPT can do from a digital marketing perspective, from carrying out research around SEO keywords, to writing out code and devising frameworks for marketing strategies.
It all comes down to the prompts you use and how detailed they are. Combine ChatGPT with plugins and you unlock even more functionality, but more on that later.
We all know as marketers that we spend half of our lives pulling presentation decks together using PowerPoint or Slides, so I relish the opportunity to make this process more automated. Step in Beautiful.ai.
I was actually really impressed with this one. It’s an AI slide deck building platform and it can really save you a huge amount of time and energy devising new templates for decks.
The AI generally does a good job of interpreting your prompts and the slides look really professional and have a lot of nice animation functionality.
Of course it doesn’t do everything and you still have to go through and add your own content and changes but it takes a huge amount of the leg work of setting up a new template. They also have a tool to convert powerpoints straight into the platform.
It’s quite cost effective too for the higher packages which open up collaboration and company themes.
I love MarketMuse because it really takes away such a large amount of manual time with content audits and content strategy building.
How does it work? Well, MarketMuse offers a plethora of content features.
First and foremost, it provides invaluable keyword insights, helping you understand the language your target audience is using and identify high-potential keywords to incorporate into your content.
The Ai element does all of the heavy lifting for you, it analyses content themes and types at scale, presenting the results in a really easy to digest user interface.
Of course, they have integrated ChatGPT into the platform which allows you to also create content based on the themes and topics within the platform. It’s a really good one stop shop for all of your content planning and creation needs.
Just another generative AI platform?
No, this one blows the others out of the water when it comes to engaging marketing messaging. Phrasee is a platform centred around creating messaging that converts! It’s especially useful for generating offer messaging, ad copy and email.
Now I bet you are thinking “ChatGPT can do all of that, right?''.
Well yes that's true, but Phraseee takes out the need to devise advanced prompts, it is a lot more scalable in terms of user interface and its purpose-built around creating conversion messaging across a number of platforms and channels. This makes it easier to use compared to the limited, quite narrow, interface of ChatGPT.
It has a really nice testing functionality and has built in reporting on the higher levels which allow you to see messaging that has worked and hasn’t.
Ok, I know I am using ChatGPT again as an example, but I had to mention the variety of plugins you can now utilise to elevate it further.
One of my favourites is the ChatGPT file uploader which gives you the ability to upload a document to the platform and it will summarise it automatically and allow you to ask questions about the content of the document.
A great example of using this is when trying to interpret a complicated brief or strategy.
There are plugins for things like image editing, creating mind maps and flow charts, generating memes, creating tweets. You name it, there is a plugin for it.
So there you have it, my go to AI platforms for digital marketers.
The great thing about AI at the moment is that there are new ways of using it and new platforms are being launched all of the time, so it’s likely this list will have changed again in a few months.
It’s also worth saying that there are some amazing image & video generating AI platforms out there right now, especially the likes of Mid-journey which everyone should checkout because it’s already changing the world of illustration and Graphic design.
Who knows where AI will be in a few months! I for one welcome our new AI overlords…
